What I Learned from LashCon 2025

If you are a lash artist or beauty professional, attending LashCon should definitely be on your bucket list. LashCon is one of the largest lash industry conferences in the world, designed to connect lash artists, educators, and brand owners through education, networking, and community. It’s a weekend filled with classes, panels, product launches, and themed parties that bring the lash industry together in a way unlike any other event.

I attended LashCon for the very first time this year, and I quickly realized I was not nearly as prepared as I should have been. From booking the wrong hotel to showing up underdressed for the gala, I learned several lessons the hard way. If you’re planning to attend next year, here are the best LashCon tips to help you make the most of your experience and avoid my mistakes.

Lesson #1: Plan Ahead and Book Early

By the time I decided to go, all of the hotel rooms at the main event location were sold out. I ended up booking a nearby hotel, which worked out, but it was not as convenient. It would have been amazing to have my room just an elevator ride away to take breaks or get ready between sessions.

Tip: As soon as you purchase your LashCon ticket, book your hotel room at the same location. It will make your experience much smoother and more enjoyable.

Lesson #2: Find Roommates to Split Costs and Make Friends

Once I bought my ticket, I knew I needed roommates. LashCon provides several resources to find them, including a Facebook page and a WhatsApp group. Within hours, I found three other attendees, and splitting the room four ways made it incredibly affordable.

Because I attended solo, having roommates made a huge difference. It would have been easy to hide out alone, but instead, I had a built-in group to hang with. Even though I did not know them beforehand, they turned out to be the warmest and most welcoming girls. As someone a little older (40!), I felt so energized and confident around them.

Tip: Don’t be afraid to room with new people. You’ll save money and gain instant connections.

Lesson #3: Pack Outfits for Every Event

LashCon is not just about classes. It’s a full experience with themed parties, awards, and networking events. If you want to fully enjoy the weekend, plan your outfits in advance so you’re not scrambling or feeling underdressed.

Here’s a breakdown of the LashCon events:

  • Night 1: Themed Party – This year’s theme was Fairy Garden. Attendees dressed as fairies, elves, and wizards. Go all in and have fun with it.
  • Night 2: Awards Night – Dress in semi-formal or “Sunday best” attire. You don’t need to be overly formal, but looking polished helps you fit in.
  • Night 3: The Gala – This is the most formal night of the weekend. Think prom-style gowns and glamour. I did not realize this and showed up in a pink pullover and athletic pants. I still had fun, but next time I will be ready!
  • Night 4: Pajama Party – A relaxed final night for the die-hard attendees who stay until the end.

Tip: Pack for every event so you can feel confident and blend right in with the fun atmosphere.

Lesson #4: Stay Fueled and Hydrated

LashCon is a long and busy weekend. Most days start around 7 AM and go late into the night. It’s easy to forget to eat or drink enough water when you’re running from class to class and trying to see everything.

Tip: Bring a refillable water bottle and snacks like protein bars or trail mix. You will thank yourself later. There are water stations in the venue, but it’s easy to forget to hydrate when you’re caught up in the excitement.

Lesson #5: Know Which Classes to Prioritize

The LashCon app is incredibly helpful for navigating the schedule and finding classrooms, but not every session is the same.

The sponsored suite classes (like LashBox and PLA) fill up very fast, sometimes with lines over an hour long. With more than 1,000 attendees, space is limited. The good news is that most of the non-sponsored classes are recorded and can be watched later.

Tip: Attend the sponsored or demo classes you can’t rewatch later. Save the recorded sessions for when you’re back home and can take notes at your own pace.

Lesson #6: Visit the Trade Show Early

When the trade show floor opens, the first hour is reserved for VIPs and then opens to everyone else. This is your chance to explore all your favorite lash brands, discover new products, and grab event-exclusive deals.

Tips for the trade show:

  • If you see something you love, buy it early. Swag and exclusive products sell out quickly.
  • If you’re willing to take a chance, wait until Day 2. Many vendors offer discounts because they don’t want to pack up their merchandise. It’s a gamble, but you might score a great deal.

If you’re into UV lashing or thinking about upgrading your setup, this is also a great time to ask questions and compare products in person. For more education on styling and mapping once you’re back home, you can also read our post on Lash Mapping: more than a lash style.

Lesson #7: Apply for the Lashie Awards with Effort

If you want to be nominated for a Lashie Award, here is something many people do not realize: most nominations are self-nominations.

Throughout the weekend, I heard several attendees say they applied but did not become finalists. Almost all of them believed their applications were not detailed enough. The judges look for effort, detail, and personality in your submission.

Tip: Take your time when applying. Share your story, highlight your achievements, and include visuals or examples when possible. The more effort you put in, the higher your chances of being recognized as a finalist or even a winner.

Final Thoughts

LashCon was one of the most inspiring and energizing experiences I’ve had in the lash industry. It was also exhausting, but in the best way possible. I came home with new friends, fresh ideas, and a list of ways to prepare better next time.

If you’re attending LashCon in the future, take these lessons to heart. Plan ahead, pack smart, and put your full effort into everything you do. The more you immerse yourself, the more rewarding your experience will be.
